On June 10 thru 12 we went to the Creation Museum. We had a lot of fun. I would reccommend going. Our kids ages 5 & 7 enjoyed it however don't be surprised if you are done in a day with the same aged kids. It is for an older group for sure but very educational and enjoyable just the same. You have to watch Men in White and go to the planetarium. They have a website. Just google Creation Museum.

Ahhhh....summer time

You know its summer when your kids come inside and have 15 mosquito bites and 85% of their body is covered in dirt!
BUT all is good. Daddy and girls spent last night mowing the back lawn and cleaning up puppy poo so that our playgroup wouldn't step in poo!
While daddy was mowing the girls were playing in mud! I got home late enough to hear about it and see that daddy was kind enough to make them take a shower before i got home! Thanks honey.
Next week is vacation week. We are going to the Creation Museum. Extremely excited about it. We are taking Josiah along.

settled

So we are settled in to the new house and its feeling like home. If you ever see us outside or in the garage, stop in and say hi.
We have yet to purchase the house due to fine print on loan applications, etc...but God is in control and we will wait till His time is right.
We have gotten two puppies- Scooter (journey's dog) and Shivers (libby's dog). They are a Sheltie/??? mix and so cute. Shivers got sick last month and we thought we were going to lose her. Thank God for Millersburg Animal Clinic. They got her taken care of and she is back to her bouncy puppy self!
Virgil has been mushroom hunting and we have been enjoying the benefits of that! Fried mushrooms for breakfast???nothing better.
Journey has a week and a day left of school. She is very excited for summer to come.
Liberty is very excited for the next school year to come cause then she can be in Kindergarten.
I am very excited to have my sister-in-law and brother move here from AZ. Final move will be in June! Hip Hip Hooray!

Moving

Oh boy! Its finally here! Tomorrow is moving day. Yep, that's right we are moving out of mom's basement into our very own tiny home! heheheeee
Our new address is 1105 W Clinton, Goshen, IN 46526. Phone numbers are staying the same!
Journey is excited and nervous about switching schools. She will be attending West Goshen. We went and visited the other day so she feels a little more excited then nervous. She will greatly miss all the kids and teachers from MES. So will mommy!
Stop in and see us anytime! Libby and I will be home most days unless we are going for a walk.

End of Summer

So we are going to start a tradition of ending summer with something fun, a mini vacation if you will. We are taking the girls to Deep River Water Park! YEAH. Lots of fun. ALthough i hear that they are calling for thunderstorms which would just stink! So, we may have to be flexible. Oh well! Raise your glasses, here's to another crazy summer! May they all NOT be like this one! Cheers.

summer time

So, anyone else busy this summer? We are having quite the summer. Both my girls are getting really tan really fast. I think they spend at least 3 hours in the pool each day along with time at the park and swinging on the swing daddy made for them outside at grandmas house.
This weekend the girls and I are going to visit my friend Megan in Ohio. Very exciting. Should have a great time there. We will be gone Friday noon till Sunday afternoon.
Then on Monday afternoon we are going camping with the Hispanic ladies from our Hispanic Ministry at church. Chain o Lakes will be in trouble when they see us pull in!
If anyone is looking for things to do with their kids...check out Goshen Library, they are showing movies on Tuesdays and reading time and crafts on Mondays. Lots to do.

new job

So monday i started working at the Brew in Goshen. Yep, you heard me right...Myron is a double boss for me! Scarey!
I am learning new things, gone more from the girls and Virgil, and wondering if I did the right thing by taking on another job.
Along with feeling guilty for working more instead of being with my kids, i worry that i can't do the new job cause its different and so much to learn. Its just been a really emotional week. Thanks to friends and Virg for being so supportive and understanding. I couldn't do this without you!
So in a few weeks when i have learned how to make an excellent espresso...come in to the brew and see me and I will make you an espresso drink or at least be able to tell you the difference between a latte and a cappacino!

me no good at blogging!

Yeah, so i'm not so good at this bloggin thing. I have a hard enough time keeping up on my facebook which i only do when i am at work...hope my boss(es) don't keep up with my blog! hehehe
so i threatened to lay all my cards out on the table on facebook today. Got some interesting responses. not sure exactly what i wanted to do really other than i wish...
i wish that i felt i could be me without fear of people saying...holy water! i don't like the new her which is really the real me. does everyone feel that way?
how do i go from being passiive/agressive Diann to assertive Diann? what would it take? how would people respond? it doesn't matter, i know...i can hear my hubby saying that to me as well. BUT doesn't it matter? aaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhh
seems much safer to blog this to the world then to talk about it with people i know...oh wait...if you are reading this i probably know you and...holy water! did i say that all out loud? frown, groan...ick. feeling ick about my passive aggressiveness. blahhhhhhhhhh

Feelings

I am tired. Can I stop now? Thats what I feel like doing. BUT feelings are just that...feelings. They shouldn't change whether or not I do something, right? Just cause I don't feel like cooking a meal for my family, they still have to eat. Can I hire a chef? Nope. Can I convince Virg to eat out every meal? Nope. Well, there it is then. Feelings go away. Bring on the stove. Let me at it.

Grandma's Back

So Grandma Gloria finally came back from her week long vacation in Florida with her sister Sarah. Boy did they have fun. Sitting around watching movies, walking the beach finding shells, shopping, eating out, etc...
Journey, Libby and I went to get her on Monday evening and we had a blast at the airport. We went to the observation area (south bend) and then up and down stairs, running around seats, and causing general mayhem wherever we went.
It was fun. The girls giggled and giggled. It was good to hear. They were thrilled to have Grandma back.
Now back to our routine!

Ramblings of the simple minded

Its time to slow down. Why must I hurray? What am I hurrying to? Will the world end with out me? AM I that important? Nope. Life would go on without me.
I have really been thinking about all that i DO. When do I sit and listen? I am always doing. This year I am learning to say no to doing. I am cutting back on doing and just trying to be in my girls lives. Still learning that very hard but important lesson that dishes can wait...cleaning the house can wait but sitting and playing games or learning a craft together shouldn't wait.
Latest Info on girls:
Journey-is in kindergarten and the excitement of it all is fading. She asked how much longer she has to go to school? I said, "this year or all together?" She is about to lose her 2nd tooth!
Liberty - plays office all the time. She wants any unopened junk mail i will give her. She usually has herself surrounded by 3 to 5 stuffed animals and 2 babies.

Did you know?

Did you know that I had an accident? Yep, Jan 20th I was taking my brother, niece, and Libby home from the pediatrician when i hit some black ice and slid sideways into a telephone poll.
Could have been worse! Almost went into on-coming traffic and didn't do much damage as there was so much snow alongside the road that it slowed us down!
Then on the 24th Virgil and I went tubing with friends from church and ended up with a black & blue & red & yellow shin. OW. What a ride!
But all is well with my soul. I am walking and still able to drive the jeep. The jeep goes in on Feb 2nd or 9th to get fixed. My leg will probably be colored till May! Its bad.

So I volunteered to help with the Middlebury Elementary PTO Web page. WHY? I am not sure. OK so yes, I know why i did it. Cause I love doing stuff like that. However, things are not always as it seems with some FREE web building sites. But that is enough for now.

January 12

Oh what a day it has been! I got to be in Journeys class room for an hour this morning. then to the eye doctor to get my eyes checked so they would give me contacts for my right eye since walmart screwed up my last contact lense purchase. so any whoooooo finished that and went to a friends to talk. that was nice....relaxing.
came home to yummy food and then watched donnies kids for a little while they drove around our little town looking at houses! hmmmmm think they might move back soon? NO...they were checking out cousins houses not just houses.
oh well...tonight i have a PTO meeting and then i am off to bed. Ever since I got strep i have not been able to get enough sleep!

Excited!

Well, tonight is dance recital night. for 5 months we have been practicing and its time to show off what we learned. I'll be glad when its done but its been fun (most of the time).

Deuteronomy 8

Deut 8:3b "to teach you that man does not live on bread alone but on every word that comes from the mouth of the LORD. "
I was watching Joyce Myers this morning and her message was on Deuteronomy 8:1-11.
I was amazed at what God had to say through her and how it was just what Virgil and I had been discussing this past weekend. How we just can't seem to get ahead. Where is our blessing God? What are we doing wrong?
As Joyce puts it, we just aren't ready for what we think we want or need! God knows what is best for us and obviously if we don't have it we are not ready for it. Whatever "it" may be.
I learned I must be content w/ what I have before I am ready to recieve more from God. Cause more doesn't mean happier.
